Jan 1, 2016 · Darth Sidious was too sadistic. He dropped his guard allowing Darth Vader with his cold and calculating demeanour to cease his chance. If he was to overthrow the Emperor and rule in his place he would have chosen a time of his own to stick the lightsaber in his back. Presumably that is why the Emperor kept those bodyguard warriors as protection.

Darth sidious strength in the duel-Hes force lightening is so powerful yoda (at the start) couldn't block it in time-Sidious mastery of all seven lightsaber forms-Sidious TK able to throw about 4 repulsorcasts at a time

Dec 12, 2015 · My reading of Darth Sidious is that he gave up the lightsaber as a weapon of choice when the Jedi's went extinct. Even Yoda when training Luke did not focus on the lightsaber. Some Jedi's/Sith's see no use in carrying around a primitive weapon opting instead for what is electrical bolts to fling at their opponents.

Nov 20, 2005 · I honestly felt Sidious looked a tad odd with the lightsabre. I can see and feel the styles of Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Dooku, and Mace. Sidious looked awkward and just seemed to be randomly jabbing. It's one of the only things I didn't think Ian did very well. By the movies alone I would say he used form PokeRandomly.

Nov 8, 2005 · Mace won the Lightsaber portion of the duel. Plain and simple. Lucas wanted only Mace Windu and Darth Sidious to fight a lengthy Lightsaber duel. That's why the Jedi Posse is slaughtered so quickly. If they were there it would be the same fight minus the slaughter. Mace takes Palpatine's saber out of the equation and backs him into a corner.

Mar 26, 2013 · On the other hand, Yoda was forced to retreat. Having lost his lightsaber and having been overpowered in the force duel. So arguably sidious won on the grounds he didn’t have to flee the rotunda. Whereas Yoda did proving that Sidious was (somewhat) stronger in the force. So I’d say Sidious won. A tactical victory, but not a strategic one.
