Dec 19, 2024 · The number of requests for access to adult social care services received by local authorities from all new individuals who were not in receipt of long-term support increased from 1,809,980 in 2015/16 to 2,085,720 in 2023/24. 2022/23 was the first time the requests for support from new individuals received by local authorities surpassed 2.0 million.

Results from the 2023 GP Patient Survey show that fewer patients in the younger age groups felt supported to manage their condition compared with the older age groups.
