As part of your degree programme you will be undertaking professional placements within clinical settings and will be required to wear a name badge to identify yourself as a student. The purpose of this policy is to promote safety and security of patients, NHS staff and students on placement.

Replacement badges take 4-6 weeks to produce, and must be collected from the College Student Services Centre which is located in the Medical School. For students on professional courses within the College of MDS who have lost their ID badges.

Replacement for any student who has lost their name badge.

The coat of arms of Birmingham – the heraldic emblem of the English city of Birmingham – was first used in 1838 and has changed several times since, as the former town grew and developed into a city.

All students are issued with an identity card during their time at Birmingham. The ID card has several different functions: Identifies an individual as a student of The University of Birmingham; Acts as a library card for use at all the University's libraries; Acts as a membership card for Sport and Fitness once a memebership is purchased
