The Michigan Constitution provides for home rule for cities and villages. Residents are encouraged to frame, adopt and amend their own local charters. The Village of Beverly Hills was incorporated under the Michigan Home Rule Act of 1909.

Beverly Hills is home to two beautiful nature preserves. These pieces of natural area in our urban community provide valuable green space in an otherwise developed area. Douglas Evans Nature Preserve is located on Evergreen Road north of 13 Mile.

The Village of Beverly Hills is a 4.25 square mile bedroom community home to over 10,500 residents. Established in 1958, we have grown to include over 100 businesses, several parks and nature areas, and numerous schools and churches.

Beverly Hills is governed by a seven-member council that makes policy in the form of codes, ordinances and resolutions. The Council meets twice per month on the first and third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the municipal building. All meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
