History of Winterbourne House & Garden
Originally designed as a small country estate with rustic outbuildings and large gardens, Winterbourne followed the style of the Arts and Crafts movement with examples of local craftsmanship throughout the house.

Winterbourne is located on the University of Birmingham campus in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Only a few miles from the city centre, it is just off the main A38 route leaving the city towards the South West. If using a Sat Nav, entering our full address is the best option.

Winterbourne is open 7 days a week, Jan-Feb & Nov-Dec 10.30am - 4pm daily, Mar-Oct 10.30am - 5.30pm daily.

Interactive exhibits bring the history of the house to life for children, and whilst little is known of how the interior would have looked during the Nettlefold’s tenure, rooms have been sympathetically recreated with beautiful William Morris print wallpapers and period furnishings to evoke the Edwardian era.
