Alphabet Inc. is in talks to purchase cloud-security company Wiz Inc. for $33 billion, restarting discussions that were called off last summer after extended negotiations, according to people familiar with the matter.

The venture capital firms that invested in cybersecurity firm Wiz, which agreed to a $32 billion buyout by Google's parent Alphabet, stand to reap returns as high as 200 times for seed investors, among them Sequoia Capital,

The companies didn’t disclose Wiz’s revenue in disclosing the deal and Alphabet didn’t respond to a request for information about that figure. But multiple media outlets have reported that Wiz had $500 million of annual recurring revenue at one point during 2024 and aimed to reach $1 billion in 2025.
