Nvidia stock rose modestly early Friday as investors digested a raft of mixed news over the past few days. Shares were up 0.1% to $147.34 in premarket trading. It closed almost flat Thursday after starting the day in the red as a fresh outlook from supplier SK Hynix cast doubt over future demand for its products.

The impact of this deal on the stock market has been quite bullish, especially for AI-related companies and those involved in the deal. Arm Holdings ( NASDAQ:ARM) is up over 12% since the deal and SoftBank is also up 12%. Oracle has gained 13%.

Shares of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Vistra (NYSE: VST) have surged 860% and 700%, respectively, since the beginning of 2023. Both companies have benefited from the artificial intelligence (AI) boom despite operating in very different parts of the economy. Tepper sold 65,000 shares of Nvidia, reducing his position by 9%.

Nvidia stock reversed course Thursday after rallying earlier this week on the back of President Trump’s announcements on artificial intelligence. Investors had been worried about a slow rollout of the company’s advanced Blackwell chips but a flagship $500 billion AI plan is soothing those fears.

Nvidia stock surged after the chipmaker was named a technology partner for a massive U.S. AI infrastructure project called Stargate.
