With Delhi’s air quality in the 'severe' zone for the second consecutive day, the Commission for Air Quality Management on Thursday had imposed a set of the stringent regulatory measures including a complete halt on construction and demolition activities while directing the authorities to stop a large number of inter-state buses and trucks outside the national capital.

Delhi air quality plummets to alarming levels every year in the winter. The air quality in the capital remains in the 'severe' category for the third consecutive day prompting the authorities to impose the third stage of GRAP.

The GRAP 3 curbs in Delhi include ban on demolition and construction activities, and entry of certain vehicles inside Delhi-NCR, among other curbs, to prevent further deterioration of air quality.
