Iowa had a home game last night against Maryland. The Hawkeyes outscored the Terrapins 39-26 in the second half with two Hawkeyes reaching double digit performances. Despite the effort in the latter half it was the start of the game that dug the Hawkeye’s hole.

Iowa women's basketball (12-3, 2-2 Big Ten) suffered their second Big Ten defeat on the campaign and third overall loss on Sunday after dropping a 74-66 contest to No. 7 Maryland (14-0, 4-0 Big Ten) from a jam-packed Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Elements of Sunday's loss should have the Hawkeyes concerned, but not in full-blown panic. Generating productive urgency is Iowa's next challenge.
