Bo Nix had a chance to become a Pro Bowler, but instead opted out. The Broncos rookie quarterback was offered a spot in this week’s Pro Bowl activities after Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson and Buffalo’s Josh Allen dropped out and first alternate Patrick Mahomes advanced to his fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years.

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud declined his invite, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN reports. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix isn’t going because of the transverse process fracture in his back that he played through at the end of the season, Mike Klis of 9News reports.

The 12th overall pick of last year's draft, Nix started 18 games for the Broncos amid a historic rookie season in which he threw for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns, adding 430 yards and four scores on the ground, as the club posted its first winning record since 2016 and its first playoff berth since 2015.
