Will Sony ever release a remake or remaster of Bloodborne, the Dark Souls successor that became one of our favorite games of 2015? Even Sony’s former games chief isn’t sure — but that isn’t stopping Sony’s copyright enforcers from shutting down fun in the meanwhile.

A Bloodborne PSX demake has been hit with a DMCA by Sony, representing the second such claim made by the company in a week.

But LWMedia's exciting announcement came at quite a turbulent time, however, as the demake project that later turned into Nightmare Kart has also been hit with a legal notice from the series' rights holder Sony.

Original Story: Almost four years down the line, Sony has issued a DMCA takedown request against an unofficial Bloodborne patch that allows it to run at 60 frames-per-second. The news comes via the mod's creator, Lance McDonald, on social media:

A popular Bloodborne framerate mod is no longer available thanks to a DMCA takedown request from Sony. Australia-based Twitch streamer Lance McDonald first developed the mod back in 2020 before making it available to download in 2021.

The creator of the popular Bloodborne PS1 demake says that the fan-made project suddenly received a copyright claim for its content.

Back in 2021, modder Lance MacDonald released a patch for playing Bloodborne on PlayStation 4 Pro at 60FPS in boost mode. Sony didn’t seem to notice or care. Until now. Almost four years later, the console maker and publisher of this game hit MacDonald with a DMCA request to have the patch removed from the internet.
