Southeast Texas has a 20% chance of cloud cover along the coast to near Houston. But chances for cloud cover rise to up to 40% north of Houston.

Similar to sunsets, the more dust or clouds in Earth's atmosphere during the total lunar eclipse, the redder the moon will appear, according to NASA. "It's as if all the world's sunrises and sunsets are projected onto the moon," the space agency said.

A full "Blood Moon" total lunar eclipse is set to grace the sky this week.​ When to watch: The eclipse begins Thursday at 10:57pm CT. Totality — when the Moon is entirely within Earth's shadow — is set to occur between 1:26am and 2:31am Friday, per NASA.
