Steven Gerrard is set to remain in charge of Al-Ettifaq despite his side's poor start to the season. The Dammam-based club have won just three of their first 10 Saudi Pro League fixtures and sit 12th in the table ahead of the international break, just four points above the drop zone.

According to GiveMeSport, assistant manager Dean Holden and sporting director Mark Allen have both left the club by mutual consent. Holden, 45, joined Gerrard in February this year after being sacked by Charlton, having previously had stints in charge of Oldham and Bristol City.

Al-Ettifaq's latest defeat had left Steven Gerrard's side lying 12th in the 18-team Saudi Pro League heading into the international break, raising further doubts over Gerrard's future.
