President-elect Donald Trump’s quest to buy Greenland from Denmark could make Ozempic and Wegovy, the weight-loss and diabetes drugs exploding in popularity, even more expensive for Americans.

Pituffik Space Base, located in the far north of Greenland since the end of the second world war, is home to 200 US military personnel and 450 other forces and contractors from allies, part of Washington’s missile early warning system as well as offering space surveillance and satellite command.

Donald Trump has reiterated his interest in buying Greenland, threatening to levy tariffs on Denmark and not ruling out military force to acquire the island. Greenland is a self-ruling Arctic territory that is part of Denmark,

Though the president-elect's rhetoric is unusual, for over a century a succession of US presidents have tried to gain control of Greenland.
