Council Bluffs man charged with first-degree murder in 1989 disappearance of Iowa woman
A 61-year-old Council Bluffs man has been charged with first-degree murder in a cold case involving the disappearance of a Woodbine, Iowa, woman nearly 36 years ago. Barbara Lenz, then 31, was last seen on May 6, 1989. Her boyfriend at the time, Robert Davis, then 26, reported dropping her off at her Woodbine apartment earlier that day.

Robert Davis is charged with first-degree murder in the 1989 disappearance of Barbara Lenz. Court records show he raped and attempted to kidnap another woman seven years after Lenz went missing.
"This arrest is a milestone in securing justice for Barbara Lenz,” Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird said in a statement.
