At least 100,000 people descended on Belgrade on Saturday for a mass rally seen as a culmination of months-long protests against Serbia’s populist President Aleksandar Vucic and his government.

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on Serbia's capital on Saturday to protest over the deaths of 15 people in a railway station collapse. While the government put attendance at 107,000 across Belgrade, an independent monitor said 325,000 - if not more - had gathered, making it Serbia's largest protest ever.

A huge protest took place in Belgrade, marking the peak of more than four months of student-led demonstrations against President Aleksandar Vučić. It is the biggest challenge to his 11-year rule, which is accused of becoming increasingly autocratic.
