About 3,000 Seattle houses and businesses in the Crown Hill neighborhood were without water Thursday after a main break overnight Wednesday.

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect as a precaution for impacted households and businesses. Seattle Public Utilities estimates it will take up to 48 hours to confirm the water is safe to drink.

Around 3,000 customers are impacted by the break which happened late Wednesday night. Service is being restored Thursday evening.
