During one of his two nights performing at the Ryman, Ringo Starr was surprised by Emmylou Harris who invited the former Beatles drummer to make his Grand Ole Opry.

Tuesday night in Nashville, Emmylou Harris invited famed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to make his Grand Ole Opry debut in February.

Per Taste of Country, the former Beatles drummer, who recently released his country album “Look Up” — will headline a show at the Ryman. He was surprised on stage with the invite by Grand Ole Opry member Emmylou Harris. “When is that, July?” Starr said. “I’d love to. It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”

Country Hall of Famers Bill Anderson, Charlie McCoy, Don Schlitz, Connie Smith were featured at a special Grand Ole Opry event kicking off year 100.

The British Invasion will include a Ringo Starr performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

On the heels of his new country album Look Up, the former Beatles drummer will play the Nashville institution in February

Starr will make his Opry debut on February 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th Anniversary celebration. Starr kicked off his sold-out two-night show (Jan. 14-15) at the Ryman Auditorium Tuesday night, to celebrate his new country album, Look Up.
