Daytona 500 winner William Byron climbed out of his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet on Phoenix Raceway pit road with a huge smile after claiming his first pole position in nearly a year — the last car to turn a qualifying lap.

“Yeah, I don't make choices on that. I don't make any decisions,” three-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano said. “It's a beautiful facility. It's nice but hey I'm also a fan of change and a fan of going to new places and doing different things and I always thought that's good.”
