With the news that Pete Carroll will be appointed as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach, he will most certainly break the record for the oldest NFL head coach in history.

The NFL coaching carousel is getting close to finishing up, as it was announced on Friday afternoon that the Las Vegas Raiders had hired Pete Carroll to a four-year contract.

Pete Carroll, 73, will return to the sideline with the Las Vegas Raiders after leading the Seattle Seahawks to two NFC titles and the franchise’s only Super Bowl win during a 14-year stretch.

The 73-year-old former Patriots and Seahawks coach is returning to the NFL after just one season off the sidelines.

The Raiders' new head coach has found success over the years against these other in-division coaches, with a career total 10 wins against Reid, Payton and Harbaugh. This includes an NFC Championship victory over Harbaugh's San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 season.
