NWS issues watches for high winds, winter weather
Winter storm watch issued for Nebraska for Tuesday and Wednesday
On Monday at 3:51 a.m. a winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Tuesday 6 p.m. until Wednesday noon. The watch is for Fremont Area,
High wind watch for portions of KMAland Tuesday-Wednesday
An unusually powerful March storm is trekking across the country with a wide range of hazards from strong winds that could set off blizzard conditions and dust storms to severe thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
After a week of spring-like weather, blizzard-like conditions could return throughout much of KMAland Tuesday night.
Winter weather continues across the area as snow and dangerously cold wind chill temperatures are expected this week.
On Monday at 6:40 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 6 p.m. The advisory is for Fremont Area as well as Madison, Stanton and Washington counties.
The Nebraska Forest Service said wildfires in central Nebraska were nearly contained; however, much of the state was under a high risk for wildfires until 8 p.m. Friday.
