President Joe Biden granted pardons to several prominent public servants Monday who have faced attacks from President-elect Donald Trump in one of his final acts in office.

President Joe Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, using the extraordinary powers of his office in his final hours to guard against potential “revenge” by the incoming Trump administration.

"My family and I are deeply grateful for the President's action today," Milley said in a statement to USA Today provided by a spokesperson.

Schiff, D-Calif., was an outspoken House member at the time and part of the committee that probed the insurrection. Among those also pardoned from the committee were former Reps. Liz Cheney, R-Wyoming, and Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.
