More than 200 Rohingya came ashore over the weekend in Indonesia's Aceh province, an official said on Monday, amid growing numbers of arrivals by sea of the stateless population in the Southeast Asian country.

Over 200 Rohingya refugees have arrived in Indonesia's Aceh province, seeking refuge from dire conditions in Myanmar and overcrowded camps in Bangladesh. The UNHCR is working with local authorities to provide assistance.

Over 260 Rohingya refugees, including women and children, have arrived in Indonesia's easternmost province of Aceh, local media reported on Monday. Some 264 Rohingya refugees in two boats which were stranded in the sea, arrived in East Aceh, according to Aceh Online.

Among the natural attractions are Cox's Bazar, the longest beach in the world; the mountainous region of Bandarban; and the wetlands of Sylhet, a biodiversity haven.
