Mark Walter Family Foundation and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation have provided an initial commitment of $100 million.

Gov. Newsom enlisted the help of Dodgers Chairman Mark Walter, LA Lakers legend and businessman Earvin “Magic Johnson," and LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman for the initiative.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has launched a program called LA Rises which will provide financial support from private sectors to rebuild areas affected by LA wildfires.

NBA legend Magic Johnson, Dodgers chairman Mark Walter and 2028 Olympics organizer Casey Wasserman will lead a new philanthropic effort to support wildfire recovery and rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles.

The post-wildfire public-private partnership includes at least $100M of private capital and will shape "what L.A. is going to be like for the next 50 or 100 years."

Alongside the Lakers icon, the group will also be guided by Dodgers chairman Mark Walter and 2028 Olympics organizer Casey Wasserman.
