Israeli troops fired on people trying to return home to southern Lebanon and delayed a return home for northern Gaza residents. Israel blamed Hezbollah and Hamas.

Eleven people were shot and killed by the Israel Defense Forces in southern Lebanon on Sunday, according to an updated statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Another 83 people were injured, the ministry said.

If the Lebanese army deploys faster to the rest of southern Lebanon, the IDF might feel compelled to complete its withdrawal faster as well.

Fifteen Lebanese were killed, and 83 were wounded after the Israel Defense Forces fired into crowds of mostly Hezbollah supporters trying to reach villages in Southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

Israel said it would keep troops in the south beyond the Sunday deadline because the Lebanese army had not yet fully deployed to ensure that Hezbollah does not reestablish its presence in the area.
