One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash in Middletown Friday. It happened around 6:45 a.m. when Middletown police responded to Lafayette Avenue and Baltimore Street for a report of a crash involving a pickup truck and two pedestrians.

A report from the Indiana Borough Police Department says two pedestrians were hit by an Alliance Properties Group delivery truck just before 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of North 9th Street and Philadelphia Street. The truck was making a left turn and hit the pedestrians while they were in the crosswalk on Philadelphia Street.

The couple from Virginia was visiting for the USBC Open Championships in Baton Rouge, friends and family said.
