You can learn a lot about someone by what makes them laugh. For those who find themselves at the beginning of a new romance, or even a new friendship, there are plenty of Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day shows next weekend to use as a compatibility litmus test.

CHICAGO — While romance, flowers, candlelit dinners and chocolates are nice, there’s really nothing sweeter than friendship. Which is why Galentine’s Day, Feb. 13, has become such an official unofficial holiday, ever since it was mentioned by Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope on a 2010 episode of the sitcom “Parks and Recreation.”

Cleveland Botanical Garden will open its doors after hours for a Valentine’s Day celebration. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, attendees will get access to the Orchids: Love in Bloom exhibit, live music, food and adult beverages for purchase. Tickets are $25 per person.
