U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Thursday to sanction the International Criminal Court for targeting the United States and its allies, such as Israel, according to a White House official.

Trump has ordered sanctions on the ICC, which wields power to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, crimes of aggression and war crimes.

The order will include financial sanctions and visa restrictions against ICC officials found to have assisted in investigations of U.S. citizens or allies.
