Gov. Kathy Hochul toured Marcy state prison on Monday and subsequently announced that Danielle Medbury, the prison’s acting superintendent, had been removed from that position.

Hochul announced the change in leadership along with a series of reforms and added oversight across New York’s prisons. The new superintendent of the Marcy Correctional Facility is Bennie Thorpe.
