Two years after the passing of Portland's beloved Valentine's Day Bandit Kevin Fahrman, Mainers continue sharing his acts of kindness.

The anonymous band of cupids collectively known as the Valentine’s Day Phantom, or sometimes the Valentine Bandit, swept through the city in the dark of night before dawn Friday, leaving shop windows and buildings decorated with bright red hearts.

Kevin Fahrman, who placed hearts all over Maine's largest city for decades, was not revealed to be the Valentine's Day Bandit until his sudden death in 2023.
