The Cleveland Browns and defensive end Myles Garrett agreed to a record four-year contract extension that makes him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The ripple effect of Garrett’s extension extends beyond the Eagles. The Washington Commanders were reportedly interested in trading for Garrett, with the Eagles rumored to be “aggressive” on offering a larger trade package to prevent him from joining a division rival.

Garrett said his trade request and insistence that he was ready to play for a contender were "necessary" to further the conversation.
