Rep. Melanie Stansbury, D-New Mexico, held a sign that read “this is not normal" that Republican Rep. Lance Gooden of Texas ripped away.

The sign was only visible for a few seconds before Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) noticed it and ripped the sheet of paper out of Stansbury’s hands. Gooden, who has represented Texas’ 5th District since 2019, then tossed the sign into the air.

In a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, Gooden wrote in reaction to the video, "putting the American people first is normal."
