Federal investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating two men who were seen on surveillance cameras breaking into a U.S. Forest Service vehicle and stealing critical fire equipment in San Bernardino County.

The equipment was stolen from a U.S. Forest Service fire engine parked behind a hotel while serving on a strike team due to recent Santa Ana winds.

Investigators are looking for two men accused of stealing equipment from a fire engine in Southern California amid more brutal wildfires.

The theft happened in the predawn hours Friday in the 9500 block of Milliken Avenue, near Fourth Street, in Rancho Cucamonga
