The second-biggest party in South Africa's coalition government, the Democratic Alliance, has joined the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters in seeking to delay a parliamentary vote on the contested 2025 budget on Wednesday.

South African opposition party the Economic Freedom Fighters has written to the speaker of parliament seeking to block lawmakers from meeting on Wednesday to vote on the next stage of the budget process.
