No evidence of foul play was found after a City of Birmingham employee was found dead Thursday morning inside city hall.The 67-year-old man was found in a stairwell inside City Hall around 11 a.m. and pronounced dead on the scene shortly after.

There is no information on how the man died, but Sgt. Laquitta Wade, a public information officer for BPD, said that foul play is not suspected. A city employee was found dead Thursday in a Birmingham City Hall stairwell. The discovery was made about 11 a.m. in the stairwell between the 10th and 11th floors. Birmingham police and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said the man was a city employee.
