Disney has revealed that the popular Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin attraction at Magic Kingdom will undergo a lengthy refurbishment later this year, with plans to reopen at some point in 2026. While fans of the Toy Story franchise can enter the world of the movies at Disney’s Hollywood Studios courtesy of Toy Story Land,

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin opened in 1998 in the one-time “If You Had Wings” building. The dark ride, which uses “Toy Story” characters including Evil Emperor Zurg, has a carnival theme and passengers glide by targets. Visitors are ranked by their scores. Levels range from star cadet to galactic hero.

Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom is closing in August 2025 for a major refurbishment. The ride will reopen next year with upgraded blasters, enhanced effects, and updated ride vehicles.
