A week since the Bering Air crash outside of Nome claimed the lives of 10 people, the investigation is starting to examine weather information the pilot received before and during the flight and what role that information may have played.

The search continues Friday for a small plane that went missing in Alaska, with 10 people on board. The Bering Air flight was traveling from the village of Unalakleet to Nome when it was reported missing at around 4 p.m. local time Thursday, according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, State Troopers.

The commuter flight that crashed on Alaska sea ice last week was part of the workhorse network of short-hop flights that people in the vast state rely on for routine.
