In more ways than one, it was appropriate that Texas' 67-59 win over Tennessee ended with a steal recorded by freshman guard Jordan Lee.
With a win, Texas will advance to the Elite Eight round for the fourth time in a five-year span. Tennessee was last an Elite Eight qualifier in 2016.
Tennessee used 11 different pitchers in the win, including AJ Russell who tossed the first inning, retiring two batters. It was Russell’s second appearance of the year, his first being on Feb. 25 against North Alabama. Michael Sharman picked up his first win as a Volunteer, pitching a scoreless second inning.
