A man who allegedly set a vehicle on fire following a family dispute is in stable condition after being shot by deputies in Riverside County Wednesday. The incident was reported on the 32200 block of Cask Lane in Temecula just before 6 p.

Deputy Timothy Corlew, assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff's station, died during an on-duty collision on Wednesday morning, according to Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco.

A Riverside County sheriff’s motorcycle deputy died in an on-duty traffic collision on the 91 Freeway in Riverside on Wednesday, Jan. 8, Sheriff Chad Bianco said. “With immense sadness & a heavy heart, I must report that the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has lost another deputy in a line-of-duty death,” Bianco said in a social-media post.

A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy was killed on Wednesday in a collision involving his patrol motorcycle and an SUV on the 91 Freeway. Deputy Timothy Corlew was fatally injured at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound freeway at La Sierra Avenue in Riverside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
