Penn fired men’s basketball coach Steve Donahue on Monday after the Quakers went 8-19 in his ninth season on the job. Athletic director Alanna Wren announced the move 48 hours after the team lost to Princeton in its season finale.

Donahue, an assistant coach at Penn from 1990-2000, was first hired as head coach in 2015. During his tenure, the Quakers went a combined131-130 and won an Ivy League title in 2018.

Penn finished the 2024-25 season with an 8-19 overall record and just 4-10 in the Ivy. Overall, Donahue compiled a 131-130 record in nine seasons. He was 63-63 in Ivy League play.

After a clinical victory over Penn this weekend, the Tigers now turn their attention to a Friday matchup against Harvard in the Ivy Madness semifinal.
