Crews make progress in battle with Onion Creek fire between Buda and Kyle
HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Extreme fire weather conditions led to multiple fires in Hays County on Tuesday, including evacuations for some residents near Buda. A large fire in Kyle near Engelke Road led to evacuation notices being temporarily issued. That fire was followed by the Onion Creek fire on Ruby Ranch Road.
Residents were left to speculate about an "ongoing incident" nearby. At least two wildfires prompted evacuations.
