Visitors to Delaware beaches who are hoping for a dip in the ocean should check with community officials first. Decisions on whether to allow swimmers and surfers are made locally. The Department of Natural Resources (DNREC) makes the determination for beaches at Delaware Seashore State Park and Cape Henlopen State Park.

Ocean City officials have announced the reopening of the Town’s coastal waters to swimming following days of closure due to medical waste being found ashore.
