To tie all of the new goodies together, No Man's Sky is bringing a new lighting system with the Worlds Part 2 update. This adds an ethereal quality to parts of the game, especially around the water. Any body of water accurately reflects what goes on in the skybox, making sunsets or starry nights more romantic.
