MONROE, Mich. (WTVG) - A gas leak in Monroe County sparked evacuations on Thursday. There’s a gas leak in the 600 block of John Anderson Court., west of West Lorain Street and North Telegraph Road, according to the Monroe Public Safety Department. The department said affected residents have already been evacuated.

According to Perquimans County Emergency Services, a natural gas line was struck in the 200 block of Windfall Boulevard. Responders and Piedmont Natural Gas were on scene and the road was closed.
Evacuations lifted as crews stop gas leak in Georgetown
The Georgetown Police Department said around 10:20 a.m. that a gas leak on University Avenue had caused responders to shut down the road between Austin Avenue and Church Street. Police said the closures are expected to last eight hours or more.
