GM’s first-ever all-electric supersport vehicle will set the pace for racers at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 16 for the 67th Daytona 500.

The silent SS will bring a roaring herd of NASCAR V-8s to the green flag at Daytona. Chevy will also unveil an electric NASCAR at the event.

Daytona International Speedway is only 2.5 miles long, so with a range of 303 miles, the Blazer EV SS can lap the track approximately 121 times before needing to recharge. The SUV also has standard Super Cruise, so the pace car driver may not have much to do while going in circles.

Chevrolet reportedly is discontinuing the ICE model while featuring the EV version. The Blazer SS EV will pace the Daytona 500.

It's been three years since the Chevrolet Blazer EV SS was first shown, but the high-performance electric crossover is only now available for sale. Fortunately, the wait was worth it, as Chevy has delivered more power than originally promised.

Chevrolet is finally gearing up to launch the Blazer EV SS, following a lengthy delay. The model has 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, which enables it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Pricing starts at $62,
