LaMelo Ball has missed the Charlotte Hornets' last five as he nurses the ankle sprain that he suffered against the Los Angeles Lakers last Monday. Ball was backpedaling over mid-court after knocking down an audacious three point attempt when he rolled his left ankle on Jarred Vanderbilt's foot.

Following a rough 104-83 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the Charlotte Hornets announced LaMelo Ball will be re-evaluated in a week after spraining his ankle in Monday’s defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers. The star guard had an MRI that confirmed the severity and original diagnosis.

The Charlotte Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball due to an ankle injury as they face the Milwaukee Bucks on February 5. The Hornets' injury report also includes Grant Williams, Brandon Miller, and Tre Mann.

LaMelo Ball scored 25 points, Miles Bridges had 22 and the Charlotte Hornets beat the New Orleans Pelicans 123-92 on Saturday night.

Despite garnering the most fan votes among players in the Eastern Conference, the Charlotte Hornets point guard didn’t receive enough of the overall vote. Instead, New York’s Jalen Brunson and Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell will start for the conference in the league’s annual showcase.
