The deal will see the two investors acquire a 20% to 25% stake in AMR GP Holdings Limited, the parent company of Aston Martin F1. Stroll previously sold a minority stake to Arctos Partners, a sports-focused private equity firm, but he still maintains majority ownership.

Formula 1’s most influential car designer, Adrian Newey, is joining Aston Martin in March 2025 after leaving Red Bull.

The design guru will now play a pivotal role in Aston Martin’s car ahead of new engine and chassis regulations in 2026 with drivers Fernando Alonso, a two-time F1 world champion, and Lance Stroll, son of team owner Lawrence, hoping to benefit from the Brit’s experience and expertise.

Newey, regarded as the greatest F1 designer in history, has also become an Aston Martin shareholder. The team did not initially reveal the length of the deal, but BBC Sport has been told it is a five-year contract worth up to a possible £30m a year, including bonuses and add-ons.
