For those who have stayed in one of the Gwelva Hill lodges, could you advise on the essentials we will not need to pack, I.e. washing up liquid, toilet roll etc? Travelling with children in tow so trying to save space and not double up on things! Thank you in advance

From memory, there were enough toilet rolls, and washing-up liquid, bin bags, and dishwasher tabs, but no washing machine tabs. There is a local shop on site where you can purchase items. They might be more expensive BUT you need to weigh up space against cost!! Please bear in mind, there are a lot of local shops down the road!! We are a family of 5 with a large car and a dog!!! We pack clothes and a box of all sorts of items. Sometimes we presume that we will get items supplied when we stay away BUT we normally have to do a shopping list and go out and get the items and food we need for our visit.
Is there any pubs/restaurants within walking distance?
A:
Yes - The Preston Gate Inn in the village of Poughill is a 10 minute walk and it serves a great selection of beers and wines and delicious food! It has live music too :-)
