Where can I find a floorplan which tells me what is on display? Can't find one on the website. 'Search the collection' doesn't reveal what's on display and what isn't. I'll have 2 hours free in Manchester and want to see 18th & 19th century British art. The Whitworth reputedly has a lot, but is it on the walls? Reviews suggest not.

City art gallery is a better bet, also much closer to transport links. Whitworth is more of a day out than a quick visit, and city has more of what you're looking for.

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
