Phamonica, You are right that Medresa Ben Youssef is well worth a visit (remember to get someone to take an image of yourself from across the other side of the main square looking through a window - this makes a really cool photo !) but just walk around the outside walls and visit that part of the souk even if it is not open, as some great shops and atmosphere. 'Illuminated Tours' are saying on their (booked) 2020 Itinerary that it is open at least from 13th March 2020 - I hope that helps ?, Johnny H, England
Am I right in thinking that it will be closed for refurbishment when I go at the end of the year? I wouldn't want to waste time looking for it if you can't go inside which would be a shame as looks gorgeous.

That is correct. I’ve heard numerous dates that it will re open, but no one has mentioned this year
Confirmation - it is definitely closed We spent an hour tracking it down, and it is closed for renovations. It doesn’t say this anywhere on the trip advisor page (they are still selling tours) and speaking to the workmen it will be closed for the next 2 years.

So, from Jason's post, it looks like the Madrasa is open again: can anyone confirm?

We were there in mid-November and it was closed. As with another responder, we were told for at least another year. It was heavy construction and clearly no where near complete.
